Terms & Privacy Policy
Who are we?
We are Sam Xie (Square, ex-Zendesk Software Engineer) and Jackson Huang (ex-Canva Software Engineer), two friends who are passionate about building cool products.
Summary
We use your texts to simply generate relationship reports. We do NOT use your data for any other purpose (i.e., we do NOT use your data to train AI models, we do NOT sell your data).
We take your privacy seriously. We understand that texts are sensitive data, so we've designed the app and selected third-party services to ensure your data is secure and not used for any other purpose.
"But it's a free app... What's the catch?" There isn't one, we're currently funding this app ourselves to iterate and improve the app. Once launched, we will be charging money for this service.
By using our app, you agree to the following Terms and Privacy Policy.
Personal Data that we collect
- The name of the chats you upload
- The chat data you upload to the app (including messages)
- Your email address (if you choose to sign in with Apple Sign in)
How we handle and store your personal data
When you upload a chat, the chat data is securely uploaded to our server via encrypted communication (i.e., HTTPS).
We store your uploaded messages temporarily (approximately 15 minutes under normal usage) on our secure server to generate the reports, and we automatically delete your messages immediately after the reports have been generated.
We send snippets of your messages to Together.ai, a third-party AI platform, to generate your reports & insights. We have configured Together.ai to NOT retain your data for any purpose, as mentioned in their Privacy Policy.
We store the generated statistics and insight reports (which contain names and short quotes of your texts) in our database so that you can retrieve and access them via the app.
Security
Our servers are hosted securely using Google Cloud Platform.
We use authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure your data (e.g. Apple Sign-In). Other users of the app cannot see your reports or data, and vice versa.
We use encryption (HTTPS) to send your data between your device and our server, and between our server and Together.ai.
Data Retention
We delete your chat messages from our servers immediately after the reports have been successfully generated.
We store your reports in our database until you choose to delete them by going to settings in-app and selecting"Erase my data".
The data that is sent to Together.ai is not retained by them to the best of our knowledge (based on their Privacy Policy and our settings configuration that explicitly disallows them from retaining any data sent to and from them).
Intellectual Property
By uploading any data to our platform, you retain full ownership of all content and data you provide. We do not claim any ownership rights over the data you upload. All intellectual property rights to the content you submit remain with you.
By using our service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license to access, process, and store your data, as outlined in this document, solely for the purpose of providing the requested service.
Age restriction
You must be at least 18 years old to use this app. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
Warranties and Disclaimer
This app is provided "as is" without any warranty. We do not guarantee that the app will be free of errors or that it will be compatible with all devices.
This app is not a substitute for professional relationship advice. AI may make mistakes, always double check the results and make decisions based on your own judgement.
Our service integrates with / depends on third-party services. We make no warranties regarding any third-party services, and you acknowledge that use of such services is subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.
This is a beta version of the app, things may break and not work as expected -- proceed at your own risk.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of your data that we store by contacting us.
You can delete your data at any time by going to settings and selecting "Erase my data". This will permanently delete all your data from our servers.
